Gamewelcome Studios has announced that this year’s Nexon Developer Conference will take place in San Francisco, hosted at the Jefferson and we’ll be bringing a Guild Wars 2 audio panel as part of the entire conference! As part of the 2019 Nexon Developer Conference in Seoul, we brought on the creator of Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, Joe “Rocco” Steavenson, to talk about the game’s story and how ArenaNet was able to make it better than the original. Like Rocco, we’ll be bringing Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire producer, Dennis Brännvall, to share some insights and thoughts on the game’s audio system.

At the 2019 Nexon Developers Conference, I had the immense pleasure of attending the Guild Wars 2 Audio Panel. The Guild Wars 2 Audio Panel consisted of a panel of five (5) panelists, three of which were invited from ArenaNet and two of which were invited from Nexon.  The Guild Wars 2 panelists were: – Chris Whiteside, World Design Lead for Guild Wars 2, who oversees the design, implementation and execution of the game’s audio system – Sam Farber, Audio Director for Guild Wars 2 – Steve Danuser, Producer for Guild Wars 2

The 2021 Nexon Developers Conference is now public, and it includes a Guild Wars 2 audio panel. The conference will take place November 4-7, 2021 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii. The conference will be attended by a number of prominent figures in the game industry, including ArenaNet President Colin Johanson. Guild Wars 2 Lead Artist Mike Capps will be presenting a panel about character art, and Voice Actress Ashley Burch will be on hand to discuss her role in the upcoming Guild Wars 2 expansion Heart of Thorns.

word-image-4731 As promised, Nexon kicked off the Nexon Developer Conference this week, with some 50 sessions for developers on data analysis, programming, visual art and sound, and business management. To date, all panels are open to the public, but everything is currently in Korean. (Nexon had originally promised English and Japanese translations, but from what we can see now, that hasn’t happened yet). MMORPG players will be interested to know that Guild Wars 2 -Studio ArenaNet has sent a member of the audio team to present information about the development of the game remotely. I am honored to announce that I will be speaking at this year’s Nexon Developer Conference as a representative of the ArenaNet audio team to reveal some high-level details about how we developed the sound for Guild Wars 2! ArenaNet assistant sound designer SungHa Hong Twitter. NDC is the Korean version of GDC, where game developers from different fields and game studios share their knowledge with the public. Since this year’s NEC is online, I was able to prepare and film this performance in my room. Hong also said that his presentation has not yet been translated from Korean, but you can view the slides. There’s a lot of work Fire Road !
