While Chinese internet giant Tencent is known for its gaming properties, the company faces a lot of controversy in South Korea right now. Last month, the South Korean government threatened to ban it from operating in the country, due to its role in providing the tools for the massive ‘League of Legends’ (and other) game tournaments. This week, it appeared that the country’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was considering making a similar move against Netmarble as it is the owner of the game ‘Dragon Nest’, which is similar to ‘League of Legends’.

The Korean esports scene is so hot right now, it’s getting difficult to keep up with all the new teams and leagues.
