ESO just announced the first expansion to come out of “The Elder Scrolls Online” after six years. The High Isle chapter and Legacy of the Bretons arc is coming soon and will be set in a new region called High Isles, complete with its own lore and story line that leads into ESO’s upcoming Morrowind expansion.

Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that was released in April of 2014. The Elder Scrolls Online just announced the High Isle chapter and Legacy of the Bretons arc.

ZeniMax Online Studios released The Elder Scrolls Online’s main content update for this year’s Legacy of the Bretons year-long theme during this afternoon’s huge announcement event, as hinted, promised, and then leaked.

Yes, the next chapter will be named High Isle, and it will take place in the Systres Archipelago, a zone similar of the Mediterranean but with a medieval feudalistic civilization, which has yet to be explored in the Elder Scrolls world. High Isle, as most ESO players are aware, is located near Daggerfall and is home to the Breton elite, a magically attuned species descended from elves and humans.

The plot of High Isle revolves on a peace meeting convened to put an end to the Three Banners War. Of course, since this is Tamriel, the discussions will undoubtedly be disrupted by forces seeking some form of political benefit. The Ascendant Order is the name given to this rebellious organization.

Apart from new narrative material, High Isle will expand on last year’s companion system by adding two new prospective companions: Ember the Khajiit and Isobel the Breton. In addition, a new card game called Tales of Tribute (akin to Gwent in the Witcher games) will be introduced for battle-weary players to participate in for rewards such as house furnishings and transmutation stones.

High Isle will be available on June 6th for PC, Mac and Stadia and June 21st for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. In the meantime, we’ll see The Ascending Tide DLC (along with update 33) hit the PTS January 31st, with PC/Mac/Stadia launch March 14th and console launch on March 29th; it adds two new dungeons leading into the chapter itself.

Players who pre-purchase will immediately receive the Palefrost Elk mount, and if you pre-purchase before April 4, you will also receive the Palefrost Fawn Pet. And the best part? You can enjoy both today! pic.twitter.com/n3IL6xKyho

(A press release is included.)

This year’s adventure, The Legacy of the Bretons, was announced during The Elder Scrolls Online 2022 Global Reveal webcast. The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle Chapter, which will include a never-before-seen setting in The Elder Scrolls series, will arrive on June 6, 2022 for PC/MAC and Stadia, and on June 21, 2022 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

More than 20 million ESO players will visit High Isle, an island paradise rich in medieval culture and architecture, replete with majestic castles and thrilling tournament fields. The theme of this year’s Chapter revolves on political intrigue, and High Isle is the ideal retreat for alliance delegates seeking to resolve the Three Banners War via peace talks. While the honorable Society of the Steadfast is hosting the summit, participants should be wary of The Ascendant Order and their chaotic aims.

The Systres Archipelago, a hitherto unknown territory, is inspired by the Mediterranean’s stunning, windswept coastlines. The Bretons, ancestors of both humans and elves, live on High Isle, a beautiful planet. The feudalistic civilization of Gonfalon Bay, the epicenter of all political affairs on High Isle, is home to the social elite. Above all, ruthlessness is a virtue in this game, therefore players must keep their eyes peeled!

Companions were introduced to ESO users last year, and ZeniMax Online Studios is doubling down on the idea in 2022. Ember, a Khajiit who grew up on the streets and has a talent for magic, and Isobel, a Breton and aspiring knight who feels driven to do right by players, will be available as new companions.

In 2022, a brand-new card game called Tales of Tribute will be released, which will be played inside the ESO universe. This is a one-of-a-kind resource-building game featuring PvP and PvE that was created in High Isle. Through Tales’ unique leveling system, players may even improve their rank. There are other amazing prizes to be earned, such as furniture, transmutation stones, and even progressing a plot by competing against certain NPCs all throughout the realm.

Players can expect Spanish text translations to arrive on June 6 for PC/MAC and Stadia, and June 21 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles as part of our main game patch, which coincides with the release of High Isle. While the voiceovers will stay in English, all in-game materials and subtitles from the past, present, and future will be translated into Spanish.

Players may pre-order the next Chapter via their preferred ESO Shop, merchant, or platform store. High Isle will be available for PC/MAC and Stadia on June 6, 2022, and Xbox and PlayStation consoles on June 21, 2022.
