One of the most highly anticipated upcoming games to date is, Battlefield 2042, a game that takes place after the epic war of the first Battlefield but before the even more epic war of Battlefield 2. The plot of Battlefield 2042 centers on The Exo-Geni, a fictional company that creates soldiers that are genetically engineered to be the perfect warrior. Within the story, the player assumes the role of a soldier who is fighting to expose the Exo-Geni after witnessing a massacre of civilians.
The film will be shown as a 15-minute panel discussion before the screening of Battlefield 2042. After the panel, Battlefield 2042 Exodus will be shown. The first audience will get to view the film ahead of time and will be able to ask questions of the cast and crew. Unfortunately, due to extensive injuries suffered by the cast and crew during the making of the film, we will not be able to offer refunds to those who did not purchase tickets in advance.
Exodus, a standalone short film from Battlefield 2042, will debut next week, according to publisher Electronic Arts and developer Dice. Although specifics are sparse, it seems to concentrate on the events preceding up to the combat portrayed in the game, most likely focusing on the No-Pats at the heart of the US-Russian confrontation.
People are being compelled to abandon their homes and nations in search of safer areas as the Earth’s environment deteriorates, which is what gives rise to Battlefield 2042’s No-Pats. Given the absence of a conventional single-player campaign, this may be our first glimpse of the series’ new narrative style, but we’ll have to wait until August 12 to find out.
The Exodus short film’s description says, “Witness the circumstances that will spark an all-out war in this standalone short film set in the Universe of 2042,” while a tweet from the official Battlefield account references “unpacking the world of Batlefield 2042.”
According to a follow-up tweet, we’ll get a peek at “the locales of Battlefield 2042 via the eyes of embedded journalist Kayvan Bechir” starting tomorrow, August 3, so it seems like we’re in for another round of juicy information about EA’s next first-person shooter.
It’ll be fascinating to watch how the story develops over the course of the game’s seasons. With any luck, we’ll also learn more about how it functions. So far, we’ve learned about some of the vehicles we’ll be able to drive, the weapons we’ll be able to use, and Battlefield 2042’s approach to classes.
On August 12, at 8 a.m. PDT/4 p.m. CEST, the Exodus short film will premiere.
